Kevin Denton Instructor with Kali Sticks

Owner and instructor of Martial Movement 360, Kevin Denton has over thirty years experience in martial arts  and self-defence and has successfully designed an effective programme for both adults and juniors. 

Understanding that starting a new sport can be intimidating, Kevin will work with you to establish your current level of skill and physical fitness, then ensure that you’re getting a great workout and perfecting your technique. Most of all though his priority is to put an emphasis on learning while also being able to enjoy yourself.

Across many years Kevin has gained experience in various different disciplines such as Karate, Wing Chun & Kickboxing, before discovering the concepts of Jeet Kune Do.

In addition to his continuous training, Kevin has been lucky enough to have been able to travel to America to train with Dan Inosanto, a first-generation student of Bruce Lee and one of the world’s premier jeet kune do instructors as well as meeting and training with Burton Richardson and Marc Denny (founder of the stick-fighting group the Dog Brothers).

In the UK, Kevin has attended various seminars with esteemed martial artists such as Rick Young, Geoff Thompson, Master James Sinclair and Krishna Godhania to name a few to further enhance his understanding of martial arts.

Kevin’s passion lies in the continuing studies of Filipino and Malaysian arts Kali/Eskrima, and Silat.

Dacayana Eskrima – 1st Degree Black Belt (Eskrima/Arnis)

In our classes, we emphasize building a solid foundation in kickboxing while delving into various unarmed combat skills. Our training covers both striking and grappling techniques, all tailored with a strong self-defense focus. Filipino Martial Arts (FMAs) encompass the combat systems of the Philippines, including Kali, Arnis, and Escrima. These ancient arts originated from the martial traditions of the Philippines’ indigenous people and the surrounding regions, with roots in methods of warfare and combat.
While many are familiar with the art’s emphasis on stick fighting and knife defense, our class offers a well-rounded experience that reveals a more nuanced side of Kali: its effective and devastating boxing skills. By training with us, you’ll discover a multifaceted martial art that will challenge your perceptions and improve your overall combat capabilities.

Silat is an exciting martial art from the Malay Archipelago, perfect for anyone looking to develop both physical and mental skills. In our classes, you’ll learn intricate movements that combine striking, grappling, and weapon techniques, preparing you for real-world self-defense situations.
Our training focuses on sparring and partner drills to enhance your timing, distance management, and situational awareness. You’ll also cultivate discipline, respect, and mental fortitude, all while improving your physical fitness, agility, and balance.
